Canines and Cocktails
My friends and I decided to start a new tradition. Well, try to start a new tradition - after all, we've only done it once. But this morning, we gathered at Cabrini Park in the French Quarter, Bloody Marys, screwdrivers, and dog leashes in hand, gathered some chairs, and sat back to enjoy the show. There were Great Danes, Dalmations, Sheephounds, Basset Hounds, Pugs, Yellow Labs, and my personal favorite, the mutts. All frolicking, chasing half-chewn sticks and suspicously yellow rope, tearing across a greenspace ringed by trees and 19th century architecture. You just can't go wrong with dogs, drinks, and historic buildings.

Yeah you right!
I'm one of those people whose stomachs churn at the site of all those cor-plast signs plastered, nailed, staked, and otherwise installed at virtually every intersection in town. So one day, I got a curtain rod out of my car (don't ask), and systematically took down every single stinking sign at one such location. As I was whacking away, a guy cruised by and yelled, "Yeah you right!"
Bells will be ringing
I got a new phone last week and set the ringtone to "bells." But I had to change it because church bells actually DO ring in my neighborhood, and I kept missing calls.
